FAA Part 141

Flight schools come in two basic flavors, Part 61 and Part 141, which refer to the sections of the Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs) under which they operate. The most common distinction between them is the minimum flight time required for the Private Pilot Certificate - 40 hours under Part 61, and 35 hours under Part 141.

Flight Schools can hold F.A.R. Part 141 designation only if the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) approves the school and training syllabus. With strict adherence to FAA standards, the quality of student performance is measured through progressive flight exams during training.


Now for the good news. Orient Flight School has earned full FAA Part 141 approval, which means you can complete your Private Pilot certificate in fewer hours, while still meeting FAA certification standards.  

And that’s just for starters. We’re also working on Veterans Administration approval for advanced training like the Instrument Rating and Commercial Pilot Certificate. Depending on the benefit program (Montgomery Bill or Post 9/11 Bill), qualified VA applicants can then have the VA fund a major portion of their flight training. Currently, the VA does not pay for Private Pilot training expenses.
